Oral semaglutide contains the same active incretin-mimetic used in injectable products, formulated so it can be absorbed from the stomach. The 7 mg tablet is a common maintenance strength after an introductory lower dose on licensed regimens.

It is used, when prescribed, to improve blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. Some people also see weight change because GLP-1 medicines affect appetite and gastric emptying. Tablets are not automatically interchangeable with injections; bioavailability and dosing schedules differ.

We supply 7 mg packs for delivery to the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Swallowing technique matters: licensed oral semaglutide is usually taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of water, then waiting before food or other medicines.

Key points

  • Oral GLP-1 receptor agonist
  • 7 mg strength used in many step-up plans
  • Alternative for patients who prefer not to inject
  • Taken once daily on licensed schedules
  • Ships discreetly to US, UK, AU and NZ addresses

How it works

Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors, supporting glucose-dependent insulin release, lowering glucagon and slowing stomach emptying. The oral tablet uses an absorption enhancer so enough drug survives the stomach. Taking it incorrectly (with food, large volumes of water, or other tablets at the same moment) can cut absorption sharply.

Follow the leaflet. Typical licensed advice is: take first thing in the morning after an overnight fast, swallow whole with a sip of water (often up to 120 ml), and wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines. Do not split or crush tablets. Your prescriber chooses whether 3 mg, 7 mg or 14 mg is the right step.

The same class warnings as injectable semaglutide apply: thyroid C-cell tumour risk in animals, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and gastrointestinal side effects. People who are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding should discuss safer alternatives. Keep out of reach of children. Prescription status applies in all four countries we serve.

Why 7 mg rather than 3 mg?

On several oral regimens, 3 mg is only a start-up dose. 7 mg is often the first maintenance strength if the starter dose is tolerated. Only a clinician should escalate the dose.

Can I switch from the injection to tablets?

Not milligram-for-milligram. Ask your prescriber for a conversion plan; oral and subcutaneous products are absorbed differently.

Do you ship oral semaglutide to Australia and New Zealand?

Yes. Allow extra time for trans-Pacific customs clearance and keep a copy of any prescription paperwork.

What if I miss a tablet?

Skip the missed dose if it is close to the next one. Do not double up. Confirm the official leaflet rule for your pack.

Will I feel nauseous?

Nausea is common at the beginning. Smaller, lower-fat meals and slow titration usually help. Persistent vomiting needs medical review.
